EVANSVILLE, Ind. – After a 2-1 fall season and senior Lindsey White coming away with a 4-2 mark in singles action, the University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team begins its 2013 spring season Saturday against Lindenwood University.
The Screaming Eagles and Lions start their match, which is a men's and women's doubleheader, at 5 p.m. inside the Evansville Tennis Center.
In USI's last action of the fall against the University of Charleston, White won a three-set thriller to give her team the 5-4 victory.
Lindenwood (2-1) defeated the University of Illinois Springfield and Missouri Baptist University, both by 9-0 scores, to conclude the fall semester. Saturday's match is the first of the spring for the Lions.
Leading Lindenwood in victories is Darla Ivanova, Mariona Pinol and Sarah Sharpe, who each have five. Pinol and Sharpe led the Lions with a 4-2 record in doubles play.
Following the showdown with Lindenwood, USI returns to action February 23 at Austin Peay.
