WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The University of Southern Indiana women's tennis team opened its spring trip to Florida with a 6-3 loss to Northwood University (Fla.). USI falls to 4-3 overall, while Northwood goes to 5-1.
The Screaming Eagles fell behind early, dropping all three of the doubles matches. The Seahawks clinched the match, 6-3 by splitting the singles matches with the Eagles.
USI senior Katie Jo Clagg put the Eagles on the scoreboard with a tie-breaker win at number threee singles, while freshmen Lindsey White and sophomore Logan Ackerman at number four and six singles, respectively, in straight sets.
The Eagles continue the spring trip Wednesday when they travel to Melbourne, Florida, to visit Florida Institute of Technology. Match time is 1 p.m. (CST).
