EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women’s basketball team fell to eighth in the latest NCAA II Midwest Regional rankings after suffering two setbacks on the road last week.
USI (15-6, 6-4 GLVC), which was ranked sixth last week, was jumped by Northern Michigan University (5th) and The University of Findlay (7th), while Grand Valley State University dropped to sixth.
The University of Indianapolis, ranked second in the latest USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches’ Poll, held the top spot for the second straight week. Michigan Tech University (2nd), the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (3rd), and Drury University (4th) also stayed put, while Northern Kentucky University (9th) and Quincy University (10th) rounded out the top 10.
USI hosts the University of Missouri-St. Louis Thursday at 5:15 p.m. and Rockhurst University for Homecoming Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Screaming Eagles, who are playing at the Physical Activities Center for the first time in a month Thursday, can clinch a spot in the GLVC Tournament with a pair of wins this weekend.
